Fantastic Fields - A Machine Embroidered Landscape Workshop

A beginner friendly free-motion embroidery workshop and you can create it on your regular sewing machine.

In this class Linda will lead you in splashing around paint to create a landscape background. Then you will learn to set up your sewing machine for free-motion machine embroidery and guide it to add embellishment and create texture. You can follow the sample landscape design or get extra creative by adding trees or distant mountains. The finished artwork will be about 7" x 9".

Most supplies will be provided including coffee, tea and snacks to keep your energy levels up.

What you will bring:

· *darning or free-motion quilting foot* for your sewing machine-this is essential since you can’t do the class without one (a generic one that fits your machine is fine). It is a ring or u-shaped foot that bobs up and down as you sew so you can move your fabric.

· sewing machine in good working order (also sewing machine tools like a screwdriver, sewing machine manual if you need it)

· size 16 (jeans weight) sewing machine needles

· at least 10 extra empty bobbins

· small pointy thread scissors and larger scissors

· paint shirt

· a travel cup with a lid (for spillage safety if you like to work with your drink at hand)

*Thread note:

I will have lots of thread. But, if you want to, you can also bring your own thread. The thread can be any type of sewing thread (any weight or fibre content) or machine embroidery thread.
